Medicare Savings for Michigan Residents
Single Persons SAVE $1157
Couples SAVE $2314
You may be eligible for yearly savings of $1157 to $2314 if you are:
- 65 years old and
- Receiving Medicare A and Medicare B and
- A resident of Michigan
- OR -
- Disabled with Medicare A and B insurance and
- A resident of Michigan
You must also meet these income and asset guidelines:
- Single income- no greater than $1174 a month, $14,088 a year
- Single assets- no greater than $4000
- Couple income-no greater than $1574 a month, $18,888 a year
- Couple assets- no greater than $6000
If you are eligible for these savings, you are also eligible to receive extra help paying for your prescription drug premiums and copays through Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans. There is no coverage gap with this assistance.

Ask for an application and a list of documents needed to complete the form. This federal program is known as the Medicare Savings Plan (MSP).
